We saw the “Olympic” Air Jordan 6 first release in 2000 and was released for the Sydney Olympics. The shoes were worn by Ray Allen, who was signed to Jordan Brand then. Fast forward to 2012, and the shoes returned to retailers. This time, the drop was to celebrate the Olympic Games in London. The third time the pair will release is in the Fall 2024, celebrating the games in Paris, France. Also, Jordan Brand just released a low-top Golf iteration in October 2023.
Although the Olympic Jordan 6 is not an original colorway, the shoe was first launched 24 years ago. They weren’t sought-after then and sat on shelves, like most shoes. However, It was a different era. In 2012, things were different. The shoes were available in full family sizes and sold fast. 12 years later, the chances of wearing the Olympic 6s from 2012 have slimmed due to cracking. The 2000 release you won’t be able to wear unless you do a sole swap.
This Air Jordan 6 comes dressed in a White, Varsity Red, and Midnight Navy color combination. It is constructed with leather throughout, with signature perforations on the collar and panels. White covers the overlays, ankles, around the heels, and laces. Midnight Navy adorns the base, heel spoiler, toe box, and most of the lateral midsole. Building upon the patriotic theme, Red lands on the lace lock, and Jumpman logos on the tongue and heels. Other details include White on the medial side of the midsole and an icy translucent outsole.
