adidas has announced that they will start selling Yeezys again. This will be for the product that Kanye West and adidas have already produced. Furthermore, part of the proceeds will go to charity and Kanye will be given 15% commission on all sold goods.
This information comes from CEO Bjorn Gulden in a statement today. He said that the company will sell part of the stock and donate part of the proceeds to charities that have been hurt by Kanye’s statements.
“What we are trying to do over time is to sell parts of these goods and then donate to organizations that help us and that also have been hurt by Kanye’s statements,” Gulden told investors. “Burning is not the solution.”
There is roughly 1.2 billion euros, or $1.3 billion USD worth of Yeezys at retail value sitting in storage. All the products were put on hold due to Kanye’s and adidas’ business relationship fell apart.
At the time of writing, a timeline of when the footwear will start to release is unknown. However, there are rumors that we may see the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 ‘Pirate Black’ return, which if they are already produced, it’s likely they will land online. Once we have more information, we will make sure to update you.
