The Air Jordan 4 is Michael Jordan’s fourth signature shoe and debuted in February 1989 during that year’s NBA All-Star Game in Houston. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, four colorways were initially launched, which are the ‘Bred’ aka ‘Black Cement’, ‘White Cement’, ‘Fire Red’, and ‘Military Blue’. While each pair is considered an upgrade from the predecessor regarding technology, the AJ IV uses elements from the AJ III, like a visible Air Max unit and large Nike Air branding on the heel. Some additions include netting on the panels and wing eyelets, making the pair lighter.
We saw the first retro colorway launch in 1999: the ‘White Cement’ and ‘Black Cement’ pairs. Jordan Brand launched several ‘LS’ (Lifestyle) editions with a Jumpman on the heel. There hasn’t been a shortage of Jordan 4 retros throughout the years, but in recent years, JB has tried to make the build close to the OG. Even when the original colorways returned, the brand added Nike Air branding. Here you will see the latest release dates, news, upcoming colorways, where to buy, and more.
