The next installment in the “Mambacita” collection is the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Mambacita”, which will be released in May 2024.
Nike Basketball and Vanessa Bryant, the head of Kobe Bryant’s estate, introduced the “Mambacita” series in 2022. Two releases are already in, and we have a third pair scheduled to launch in 2024. Paying tribute to the late Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi Bryant, the next installment in the collection is the “Mambacita” Nike Kobe 8 Protro.
As mentioned, the “Mambacita” Kobe 8 marks the third release in the series. In 2022, we saw the Kobe 6 debut, and in 2023, Nike Basketball launched the Kobe 4.
This Nike Kobe 8 comes dressed in a White, Metallic Gold, and Black color combination. Constructed with White engineered mesh on the upper with Black butterflies that extend across the toe box and panels. Metallic Gold adorns the embroidered Swoosh logos on the panels and Kobe’s shield logo on the tongues. As a tribute to his daughter, her name “Gigi” and her jersey number “2” land on the heels. A Gold heart appears on the inside of the tongue, while a White midsole and matching rubber outsole complete the look.

To a degree, yes. However, the good news is that since they will release in full family sizes, typically, Nike will produce more pairs all around. While it will be easier to buy compared to other “Mambacita” releases, it still won’t be an easy task.
